Residence Inn by Marriott Scranton

Mike at the front desk was incredibly nice and accommodating. My fiance and I travel a lot, and it's rare to get this kind of hospitality these days. He went above and beyond and made our stay great. He's a real asset to the staff and property. We could also get YouTube and Netflix on the TVs, which was amazing. If we're in the area again, we'll stay here.

The friendly, helpful front desk staff made the stay fine, and the location was good. The pool was closed, though, and the mattress was old and lumpy enough that it needs replacing. In our suite, the sofa had cat scratches all along its side edge. It looked bad, and they had put a stand in front to conceal it. Management should go through each room and replace worn-out things. Breakfast started with a strong selection, but around 8:30am nothing was being refilled.

We spent three nights here and had a great stay. The service was friendly and helpful, and we were really glad they let us bring our dog along on vacation. Breakfast was simple, but it kept us happy until lunch. Thanks for a great experience.

We've been at the Residence Inn for a couple of days and still have several days to go. It suits us well for an extended stay: there's a modest kitchen so we don't have to eat out every meal, a large desk for me to work at, a good breakfast, and even an outdoor grill. It's clean and comfortable, and the staff are all very nice. There was some highway noise and a few guests outside last night who seemed to think it was noon instead of midnight. I mentioned it to the staff, and the noise stopped. The traffic was mild, and although they offered to move us, it wasn't enough to make us want to switch rooms. For an extended stay, this is better than most, and if the experience changes, my review will too. Sept 01, 2025 Now that we've been here a little over a week, I'm updating my review. This Residence Inn is really the best I could ask for. The place remains clean and comfortable, and every staff member has been top notch, so I'd recommend it without hesitation. My only downside is that there are few places to walk to because of the location, though that may not bother you. If I return to this area for another extended stay, this Residence Inn will get my business.
