Don Q Inn

At the Don Q, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and really supportive from the moment I arrived. The pool and hot tub were spotless and well maintained, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and equipped with what I needed. It’s clear they care about guests being comfortable and keeping the place clean. I had an amazing stay and would happily return. The Don Q exceeded my expectations, and I’d recommend it.

We stayed in the Cave, one of the Fantasy suites, and I highly recommend it. The Don Q has a lot of history, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the hotel feels clean without being sterile. The pool area was really enjoyable, and prices aren’t expensive. It’s also about 15 minutes from several attractions. Absolutely loved staying here.

The front desk customer service was nice and available 24/7. Someone else here put it well: don’t stay because it’s nice, stay because it’s weird. The themed Geisha suite felt old and outdated, with creaky floors, old furniture, sagging chair cushions, and dated wallpaper and decor. There were dusty fake flowers and cobwebs, though the bed was okay. There were quaint, odd dental chairs in the lobby. As soon as you enter the second set of front doors, there’s a strong smell like mold, an old barn, or a house without circulation. The jacuzzi blew out a mildew smell, and lots of black bits were floating in the tub. It needs maintenance. The free breakfast was biscuits and gravy, precooked sausage, powdered scrambled eggs, cold cereal, toast, a waffle maker, and juice. Nothing fancy, but it was there, and the food could have been warmer. The water smelled funny too. I don’t think it’s a well, it must be the plumbing. Be prepared for an experience.

We drove three hours to visit the Don Q Inn, and it exceeded our expectations. The Cave Room and Geisha Gardens were incredible, clean, and well cared for, with super-comfy beds. The staff were kind and extremely helpful, and you can tell the place is treated with a lot of love. It’d be great for a trip with kids, friends, or a romantic getaway. We’d like to come back and try every room. Thanks for such a good birthday weekend!
