Holiday Inn Club Vacations Lake O' Woods Resort

It feels wonderfully tucked away, like you're thousands of miles from anywhere, even though this is right here at my home on Lake Palestine. The Lake Palestine Resort has put a lot of heart and soul into bringing this once beautiful, abandoned place back, and it's in much better shape now. There's plenty to do outdoors too, and it feels like a country getaway worth adding to your bucket list.

We had a wonderful stay, and there are plenty of interesting things to do and restaurants to try in nearby Flint and Tyler. The woods and lake were beautiful, and the little pool was relaxing. The cabins were cute, and our family of five fit comfortably. With everyone living so close together, though, it was hard for the grown-ups to stay up and watch a movie after the kids went to bed.

The cabins have always been clean, and the staff have been great. They're loft style, which is nice, though my little kids like to rush down stairs, so I block the stairs to keep them from getting up to the loft. We've visited Lake O' The Woods many times over the past couple of years to relax. The playground is amazing, and the pool is a good size. There's just one pool, but it hasn't been too crowded on our visits.

There's a ton for families to do, and the a/c and wifi made it easy to get some work done while taking a break from the Texas heat. The cabins are old and rustic and could use some updating, but they had everything we needed and suited the rustic camp setting. Such a neat place!
