Oak Hotel

James & Danny are the best, and the service was excellent. It's a very quiet hotel in a nice neighborhood, with a great location. The customer experience went beyond what I expected!

It's cheap and you can pay cash, but some of the workers are real jerks. If you're late paying rent, they'll bang on your door at any hour. They'll also knock and walk straight into your room, so they could catch you naked or interrupt a private night with your significant other. Not fun, just saying lol. They're also trying to stop people from having guests at all, which is ridiculous. If I've paid to stay there, I should be allowed to have a guest as long as they follow the rules and behave, but the workers make it really difficult.

Long story short, if you need a cheap hotel, I'd spend a little more for something better, or save the money and sleep on the street. It'd be about the same experience for free. Check-in and check-out were not what I was told: I have an email saying I could check in any time, but staff pointed to a faded sheet listing 3pm-11am. They were rude and pushy. I wasn't expecting much given how cheap the room was, but it was cramped and the walls were so thin I could hear EVERYTHING: a guy blasting music, other customers being kicked out, and a woman complaining about bed bugs.

They clean the shared bathrooms in the morning, though by evening they can get pretty nasty when people without rooms try to sleep in them. I’ve never seen a cockroach, which says a lot. Most of the staff are respectful. Towels are another story: you have to ask, and you might get one tiny, old rag, maybe once every four days for two people. Ahhh, home sweet home 😜
