Dolores Mountain Inn

We came back about a month ago because we have family nearby, this time with my wife and our three boys, ages 7, 8, and 9. The neighbors were incredibly rowdy, and the boys were encouraged to have disgusting, unhealthy food for breakfast. I'm not coming back. May God be with you until you find the right path. I first stayed here in November 2023 on a family trip. The place is beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend it. Room service was just okay, the staff felt a bit pushy, the blankets were tucked way too tightly, and breakfast was late. I also took my wife out for some... you know what I'm getting at.

There were nine of us, and we had enough room to be comfortable. My son and his family of seven live in Dolores, so we all met up at the Inn and cooked and ate a meal together one night. Everything we did in town was within walking distance. The staff were AWESOME and very accommodating, and we'll definitely stay here again when we're in Dolores. We were there at Christmas in 2023, in a two-bedroom unit with a futon in the living area. The group included five adults, boys aged 18 and 16, and kids aged 10 and 5. We managed with one bathroom. I could get fresh towels each day without any trouble, and they gave us extra blankets.

The town is cute, with a few restaurants an easy walk away, and check-in was friendly. It's a good hotel for a trip to Mesa Verde. Our room was simple and clean, though the towels were unusually small and thin. It got a bit noisy in the morning, and breakfast didn't have much variety.

We had our dog with us, and the $20 charge seemed reasonable. The “Rag Bag” was a fun touch, and breakfast had a nice range of quick, easy options. The staff were very kind, and during the heavy snow someone even shoveled our car out for us. Lovely little place for the price. I'd stay again.
