Holiday Inn Express Donaldsonville by IHG

After our drive in from out of state, Amelia called to cancel our reservation because, she said, another guest had extended their stay. When I told her she couldn’t do that, she said it was their policy and got defensive. She was smart with us and said she didn’t know what to tell us. She also said she couldn’t contact the manager, then gave us the wrong number for Customer Support. Customer Support told us that cancellation was not their policy and reserved us a room. They were excellent. On Saturday, the front desk employee had rollers in her hair. When we checked out Sunday, the two women at the desk were nice and apologized that the power was out, which was beyond their control. I never expected this from The Holiday Inn brand Donaldville Hotel. They won’t have to worry about seeing us again.

The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. We had to move because the TV in room 226 didn’t work, then found that the fridge in room 326 was out too. The bathroom and shower doors wouldn’t stay open, and the WiFi was basically nonexistent. Nothing major, just a bunch of little annoyances.

The covers were dirty, the pillows were disgusting, and the toilet and shower hadn’t been cleaned properly. The carpet was nasty, the toilets were loose, and the whole place stinks. Breakfast was horrible too. I’m guessing the short-haired brown-haired lady is the housekeeping manager, and she was very rude to her employees. I don’t mean to be rude, but this place is disgusting and not worth the money. If you don’t want reviews like this, you need to step up your game.

The room was okay, but there wasn’t an electrical outlet at the desk to charge my laptop. Breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had at a Holiday Inn Express. We came down at 8:00 on Saturday, halfway through the posted hours, and found plenty of sausage, six or so burnt omelets, one biscuit, and no cinnamon rolls. Nobody checked on the breakfast area while we ate cold cereal. I expect a decent breakfast from HIE, and this one was pitiful.
