For a one-night stay near a wedding, the big, clean room and comfortable bed worked well. I especially loved the claw foot tub. There was no one at the desk to greet me when I arrived or when I checked out, though. I would've liked a friendly face to thank in person. Still, I enjoyed my stay 🙂

The owners were kind and sociable while I stayed here near the end of my Mississippi River paddle. My room looked out over the main road through Donaldsonville, and the location made it easy to explore the historic district and the park along the levee and on top of it. It's a great little spot, with classy rooms in a historic building. Besides Gaston’s next door, check out the Cane Sugar Toffee Company and the Grapevine Cafe.

There wasn't much happening in downtown Donaldsonville, though I liked being right in the middle of it. The room worked well for a night passing through. We had fast Wi-Fi, a fridge, microwave, and large bathroom, plus laundry access, which was a big plus. Our double room was sparsely furnished, with no desk or chair, and no windows.

A unique stay in a hotel in this historic town that's over 100 years old. I stayed in Louisiana's first capital city. Maybe I was the hotel's last guest, since I heard from neighbors that this location will be used for a specific purpose.

The staff were very friendly when we checked in, and the room was a great price. It was clean and had a comfortable bed. The restaurant downstairs was excellent, especially the brisket, which we recommend.
