Candlewood Suites Topeka West by IHG

It was great having a little kitchen in the room, and everything was organized and stocked. We didn't need to ask for anything unless we'd forgotten it, lol. The rooms were extremely clean and well kept, and everyone was friendly and made sure we had what we needed. We'll come back another time.

The only bright spot was the friendly staff. The price and service didn't match at all, and I won't return. I'd asked beforehand to make sure fresh linens would be there for the pullout, since we'd booked it, but the bedding was covered in pet hair when we pulled it out. Luckily, the apologetic front desk gave us new sheets. The room clearly hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time, and maintenance seemed overdue. There was urine splashed beside the toilet, hair in the bathroom, and dust built up in the vent. The fridge whirred loudly whenever it started, and water leaked from the faucet handle when turned on. The halls and elevator reeked of marijuana. Funny, given all the signs claiming they care about cleanliness.

The room at Candlewood was stocked with the necessities and very clean. Everyone working there was friendly and polite. Tommy made checkout easy and greeted me with a welcoming smile. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and I'll stay again.

Miss Ilene is always accommodating, and Fred is a host on another level. Tommy makes sure the hotel looks as fresh as possible each night for the next day. The staff here are definitely A1!
