Provident Grand Luxury Short Term Residences

This is the second year I’ve booked the grand for my sister, who visits from out of town, and this year was a very disappointing experience. After a long Thanksgiving dinner, the fire alarm went off at 7:00 the next morning and the whole family had to walk outside in our pajamas. We’d asked to extend the stay through Sunday, and the front desk charged the card on file. But after a long shopping day on Saturday, we returned to find the room code had been changed. The front desk did nothing to help. The phone numbers on the reservation confirmation no longer worked at the hotel, so I called everyone I could think of, while the whole family waited in the lobby for hours. I’m very disappointed.

Watch who you book these short-term residences through. Some agents in the building rent out rooms and then switch guests between units at the last minute. We rented from Giovanni in June, and he made us change rooms twice at the last minute during our ten-day stay, causing a lot of inconvenience. Provident also sells rooms to different agents, which creates problems, and its management team wasn’t helpful when we raised the issue. The elevators were out for ten of our fourteen days, so we had to use the freight elevator. The bed and furniture weren’t luxurious either. I wouldn’t describe this as a grand luxury experience. The only good thing is the downtown doral location. Everything else, including the property, management, and real estate agents used to fill the rooms, made the stay feel poorly managed and far from luxurious. Don’t be fooled by the fancy pictures; research before booking. There are other good places in the neighborhood.

We’ve stayed here for the second year now, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. A special thank-you to Elis or Alis, the very sweet blond girl who works with Nicolle, and to Nicole herself. Their team gave us amazing service, and we love staying here.

The office ladies were so kind and helpful during our stay, and we had no complaints. The amenities were excellent, too. There are incredible restaurants just a two-minute walk away, which makes the location fantastic. I’d recommend it without hesitation.
