Best Western Doswell Hotel

At $65, it was at least affordable, but I wouldn't pay a cent more. The common spaces and gym were filthy, with dead bugs all over, and the fridge in my room didn't work.

Some of my clothes were stolen from the guest laundry. The front desk said they couldn't look at the camera footage until the manager came in. I don't feel safe here, and I have no confidence in the staff.

The shower control fixture pulled away from the wall because the escutcheon between the tile and fixture wasn't thick enough. Water could get into the wall and put strain on the metal supply lines. I'm a handyman homeowner, so I noticed the problem and told management. They assured us they'd fix it, and we hope it's taken care of when we return. Aside from that issue, the place was clean and updated, staff were kind and thoughtful, and breakfast was plentiful, with scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, and apples to take away. Dogs are allowed, but our room smelled perfectly fresh when we arrived. We plan to come back.

We stopped here while driving north from Florida. The location right off Interstate 95 was handy, and the recently renovated room was comfortable and very nice. I'd stay again if I were in the area.
