Hilton Garden Inn Dothan

I'm a diamond member, so I stay at Hilton properties around the country. This place isn't terrible, but it's dated, and the carpet needs replacing in both the room and hallway. The main reason for my three stars is that they charge for breakfast. A hotel in a podunk area and you can't even get breakfast? They offer free coffee, but paying for something that's complimentary at every other Hilton, most of them anyway, is a deal breaker for me. Nothing awful about the place, but I won't stay here again. Hope the breakfast was worth it :(

The rooms have always been comfortable and clean. When I visit, the best part is Ashley, the Food & Beverage Manager/Bartender. She's always friendly, professional, and very attentive. My one request would be cheaper domestic beer, since $5 for one is pretty steep.

You can't beat the price, and the breakfast is great. Definitely include it with your room, it's worth it. The hotel feels a bit dingy, though. Our room and bed were clean, but there's a cigarette smell throughout the hotel and an older, musty odor. Maybe they need to change how they clean or use some kind of fresher smelling cleaner. It may just need a complete renovation.

Ashley at the bar is always attentive and easy to talk with. She has good conversation, like a well rounded local and a true friend. When someone remembers you over months, even a year or more, it makes you feel welcome and appreciated, almost like home. I stay here every time I'm in Dothan and appreciate the welcoming atmosphere. I'll always look here first when I'm traveling to Dothan.
