Econo Lodge Tonawanda I-290

I won't stay here again or recommend it. I had planned to send 50 people coming to celebrate the Super Bowl here, but after this experience, I'll give my money to another hotel. I was staying for business for over two months and was offered a discount. The owner asked if I was okay with skipping room service to reduce the staff's workload, and I agreed. Two days ago, I had an emergency and went home. When I returned Friday, the housekeeper yelled that my room was dirty and she wasn't paid enough to clean it. I explained that I hadn't had service once during my long stay, but she kept saying I was paying a discounted rate and shouldn't leave a dirty room. Tonight, I told the man at the desk I needed to check out. He got upset and said I should have given advance notice because he could have cleaned and resold the room. I'd paid for the night, so he wasn't losing out.

We left Econo Lodge and went across the street to Sleep Inn, where the huge rooms, hot breakfast buffet, pool, gym, business center, and welcoming managers made us feel like family. At Econo Lodge, we were given three rooms. The first had a missing window screen and looked like someone had squatted there. The second had no heat or TV. The third had an overflowing toilet, which we only noticed after unpacking, so we dealt with it. The place was filthy, the managers were rude, and when we asked for a refund, they flatly refused. No breakfast, no credit, no respect. A total disgrace. Go to Sleep Inn.

We booked three nights, but left after one because the mold smell was unbearable and I was having trouble breathing. We had to change rooms three times after arriving because of the smell. Management refused to refund the two nights we didn't use. I'm sure the Department of Health would want to know about the unhealthy conditions here. This was the worst motel experience I've had, and I'd give it a negative star rating if I could. I'll be calling my credit card company to dispute the charges.

For an overnight stay, it worked out well. The room was fairly clean, with a few dusty spots, but nothing too bad for an Econo Lodge. We were only there one night, and it was a good place for that.
