My father left right away and spent hundreds of dollars at another hotel to find a safe, sanitary place for the night. After he microwaved a burger from McDonald’s and stepped away to use the restroom, he came back to find roaches eating his food. He’d booked here for one night while passing through town. Even before he got to his room, another guest was trying to get a refund because their room was uninhabitable. That should’ve been a warning. He also saw an employee remove an exterior air vent to get into a guest room after someone had been locked out. That raises serious safety, privacy, and security concerns. Don’t expect a refund. Their so-called customer service sent us in circles with phone numbers that didn’t work and empty promises. And to the OYO representative who keeps replying to these reviews, generic apologies aren’t enough. Refund customers and address the serious health, safety, and cleanliness problems at this property. I challenge you to stay one night in this cesspool. I booked the room for my father, and this was an appalling experience. This place should be reviewed immediately by the health department as a health hazard. Avoid it. Your health, safety, and sanity are worth more than whatever deal they offer.

Update: The owner replied to my first review and told me to email, so I did several times. I was ignored each time. The response seems meant to make the hotel look like it’s doing the right thing, but they still haven’t returned my $75 for a room I never stayed in. Fairness and honesty apparently don’t matter to this business. Congratulations, Oyo hotel, if your goal was to be known as a sketchy, dirty, overpriced hotel that takes online bookings while knowingly over capacity and keeps people’s money. You’ve managed that. I’ll email, call, and write every elected official in Coffee County until this place is shut down. You can’t treat people like this and keep getting away with it. Shame on you. Hope that $75 was worth it, along with what you’ve taken from countless others. This was a total scam. I booked a room, arrived, and was told there were no rooms available. I had to drive more than an hour south to find another room. Then they refused a refund, calling me a no-show. That’s a lousy way to do business. Outside looked like a crack house, with sketchy people hanging around on the balcony.

I’m a customer and still here. Why wait? Come stay when you can pay 80% less than at the neighboring hotels. I got two days for $95, and everything I needed to rest worked in the room. If you’re scared of bacteria or nervous about people around you, you’ll have the same feelings and problems everywhere. Otherwise, you can make more friends with bacteria 😁🫰🙏🇬🇪. Those reviewers should take a break and remember they won’t live forever. People have a lot of difficulties here, and we have to help each other.

I left within ten minutes and cried. I wouldn’t stay again, and I’m out $67. Pay attention to the “no refund” sign in the lobby. I’d driven five hours for a solo overnight trip to recharge and spend a day at a local state park. When I pulled in, I was already worried I’d made a mistake. There was trash and a lot of dirty, neglected areas. The lobby was messy and unkempt, though the desk clerk was friendly and welcoming. My room was right in front of a group of workers, camped out by the door. One worker had to move her phone, which was playing music, off my windowsill while I swiped my key. Inside, everything was dirty: the bed, tables, bathroom, shower, and carpet. There was only a third of a roll of toilet paper and no extras, smears in the toilet, dirty footprints on the door, and cigarette burns on the bedding. The door didn’t close properly, so I could hear everything the workers were saying. I couldn’t get the adjoining-room lock to engage fully either, and didn’t feel safe.

I was supposed to stay three days but lasted only four hours. There were what looked like parasitic worms everywhere: coming out of the air conditioners, through cracks in the parking lot asphalt, in the mini fridge, and on all the towel racks. I won’t even get into the bathroom. The Oyo hotel should be shut down by the health department. The manager, though, was very nice and provided excellent customer service.
