Super 8 Douglas

The bed was very comfortable, and the room was nice and clean. The staff were very accommodating. Great location, close to whatever you need.

I book around 3500 nights a year for myself and employees, and this is the most run-down hotel I've booked in years. During our stay of less than 12 hours, I killed a few large, orange/rust-colored roach-like bugs that didn't fly. The bathroom looked like someone had started painting, then changed their mind, with huge splotches of blue paint. There were plenty of other issues too. The lady at the front desk was super nice and helpful.

This motel from Hell was filthy and smelled bad. It took three tries to find a room where the window locked, and the carpet was filthy with hair all over the bathroom floor. Four men were outside our window drinking and grilling. If my wife's heart could have handled going farther, we'd have packed up and run.

The rooms are small but clean, though mine had a musty smell bad enough that I had to bring in an air freshener. The bottom-floor floors creak, and my room's smoke detector was missing a battery. There was also a power strip left haphazardly on the floor. Still, it was quiet and not as rundown as a lot of other Super 8 motels. Breakfast was just waffles and cereal, maybe fruit. Restaurants and a convenience store are within walking distance.
