Sleep Inn & Suites Douglas

We had a wonderful stay while visiting family nearby. The staff was amazing, and our room was incredibly clean. We also really enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

The staff was friendly and quick to help. We needed bedding for the hide-a-bed, and they brought it right away. They also gave us a private meeting room for an online appointment and extended checkout. Breakfast was clean and stocked, with the usual selection, and we liked having tea, coffee, and water available all day. The hotel is near a lovely park we enjoyed. For our family of six, it worked out perfectly. I notice everything, and it was clear the place gets washed and dusted constantly. The carpets in our room were a little worn, but everything was clean.

The location was the only good part of our stay. Check-in took 20 minutes, and only after we walked around the whole hotel looking for someone. There was just one staff member, who had been told to "get what housekeeping missed in her free time." Breakfast was bland, so a quick walk to the McDonalds was a better choice. The hot tub was barely warmer than room temperature, and the bottom was filthy. We waited 20 minutes for it to heat, then another 20 after the woman said she had "turned it up," but it was still barely above room temp. Apparently, you have to ask the front desk to adjust it. One hand towel had a yellow, dingy stain when we arrived. At the "Sleep Inn," we could hear every little movement in the rooms above and beside us, and the wall heater/AC kept cycling on and off all night, sounding like an old jet engine trying to start every 10 minutes. We barely slept. Definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel or return.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet with a good selection of TV channels. The lighting in the room wasn't very good, and breakfast was poor and never changes. Fine for a night or two.
