Freedom House B&B

Mike and Elizabeth were so kind and welcoming that we felt at home right away. Our room at the Freedom House B&B in Dover-Foxcroft had every amenity we could have wanted, and the bed was truly luxurious. The house is beautifully appointed and wonderfully cozy. Add breakfast, too: it was hearty, delicious, and a perfect start to the day.

I’ve stayed in two different rooms in the cottage while working around Dover-Foxcroft a couple of times a year, and both have been great. They’re toasty warm in winter and cool and comfortable in summer, with all the comforts you could want. I didn’t expect to become a repeat guest! Elizabeth and Mike are accommodating hosts and cooks, and every stay has been wonderful. I can’t recommend Freedom House B&B enough. You won’t be disappointed 😊

Our favorite outing was Sebec Lake, about a 10-minute drive north, where we enjoyed the beach and rented a boat. Back at Freedom House, the 1BR apartment was spacious, immaculately clean, and cheerfully furnished, and the updated B+B felt inviting. We came for the comfortable beds and delicious breakfasts, and also appreciated the housemade cookies, good coffee, cozy fire pit, and relaxing porch swing. The proprietors were welcoming without hovering and clearly attentive to details. We were glad to take home one of their hand-painted river rocks, though there wasn’t room for a few houseplants too. We had a restful stay and highly recommend it.

I’ve stayed here in summer, fall, and winter, and each visit has been exceptional. The hearty breakfasts are freshly made by the friendly proprietors, and there’s plenty of space to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. I especially like the front porch swing and Adirondack chairs, plus the fire pit out back. Rooms and apartments each have their own character and decor, the beds are comfortable, and everything is so clean it passes the white-glove test. This B&B is a gem.
