I enjoyed the experience overall, but the breakfast lounge staff member on Monday morning was abrupt and unprofessional. She hovered while guests fixed their plates and was rude when people asked for plastic bowls or cream cheese. I also heard her complain about guests and their expectations, saying they "already have a full kitchen in the room." She should keep those comments to herself or save them for a staff meeting.

On my second stay at this Residence Inn, I again found the pool unavailable, even though the two visits were at different times. The pool is one reason I choose this brand, so having the same issue twice was frustrating. This time the room also smelled strongly old and moldy, and the bathroom tile was damaged. I missed the fresh baked cookies the lobby usually has, too, since I'd been looking forward to them. I value Marriott and have had good stays with the brand before, so I wanted to share what went wrong.

I was in Dover for a 3-day training and Jen and Tayler were phenomenal. The hotel was clean, the staff were exceptional, and the location was just right. I wasn't disappointed at all, 10 out of 10. If you're coming to the Dover area, this is where you want to stay.

The people we dealt with were polite and professional, but the room was nowhere near acceptable. Our mattress was coming apart at the seams, the carpet was ripped with tack strips exposed, there was mold in the bathroom, and the shower control was broken. For a Bonvoy member with the highest status who has stayed at countless Residence Inns, this was easily the worst one. The exterior looks good, but it seems like landscaping gets more attention than the rooms. We were there for only two nights on points and didn't bring it up during the stay, though I have photos of the conditions. The property has fallen well below Marriott standards and is an embarrassment to the Residence Inn brand. I'd avoid it until it's renovated.
