Hampton Inn & Suites Downers Grove Chicago

We got a good weekend deal, and the stay exceeded expectations. Friday was busy, but there was still plenty of parking, even if you had to walk a bit. The hotel is large, and for anyone who prefers less face-to-face contact, online check-in and a digital key let you get to your door easily. Our spacious, clean one-bedroom was on the top floor, with a welcoming message on the TV, a mini-fridge, a view outside, and two TVs, one in the bedroom and one outside it. We wished we could have stayed longer. Digital checkout took two seconds. There's a restaurant and bar inside, though we didn't get to try them. The area was nice, and we explored nearby restaurants with tons of good options. I'd recommend it.

Jouse was awesome, quick to help, and really accommodating. He took away our stress and saved the day. Great customer service, and the room was very nice!

The bed was nice and the gym was good, but the bad smell in our room made me uncomfortable. The furniture and floor had stains and felt unclean. The breakfast was okay. The place looks appealing at first, so I expected comfort, but it was only okay. What matters is how it feels, and our room didn't feel clean.

My wife and I have stayed here two years running around this time, and we like everything else about the hotel. Still, this year's stay brought a disappointing issue that may affect whether we return. Employees told us management decides when all rooms switch from heat to AC or back again. Our sixth-floor room reached 78 degrees, and the thermostat only offered heat or off, with no AC option. If it's over 70 degrees in March, that policy is a deciding factor for us. The bathroom exhaust fan also didn't work, which made the room's uncomfortable temperature even worse.
