Super 8 by Wyndham Fort Smith

I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you're bringing kids. It was very dirty, and they didn't come to collect the trash or change the sheets.

The room was filthy, with dusty webs and spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling. The counters were stained and sticky, and the sink, showerhead, and handle were grimy with buildup and hair. There was even a spider dangling from its web inside the shower. I would give it zero if I could. I drove two hours to get there and then had to leave with nowhere to stay. They didn't offer me another room or any other solution beyond telling me to call corporate to redeem the points from my Wyndham membership.

We found a bed bug at 4 AM, so I stripped the kids' clothes and got them into the car right away. After killing more than 20 roaches, I'm glad they aren't allowed to serve real food. The bug was tiny, probably newly hatched, so I think there are likely more on the property. Still, the manager and front desk clerk acted as if they'd never heard about bugs there. Avoid this place. The low rate doesn't make up for how disgusting it is, and with that many roaches, it seems obvious they aren't treating the property. This place needs to be condemned. If negative stars were possible, I'd give them. We booked online for five nights and went to the room on our key card, but it was dirty. There was stuff on the blankets, and the floor turned my kids' socks black. We were hesitant to stay but had already paid, so we tried to make do. My husband asked the manager whether it was a smoking room, and was told smoking is pretty much allowed in every room. A few hours later we found two adult German roaches. I took our bags back to the car and stayed awake all night. There were also lots of phorid flies, water damage in the shower, a bathroom door that wouldn't shut, a hole in the bathroom ceiling, and an inside security latch on the front door with no knob. The room was sweltering and wouldn't cool down. The mini fridge didn't work and there was no microwave. Pets are accepted, but the only place to take them potty is by the bottom of the stairs. From the office, it looked like a bathroom camera was streaming to the main screen. Drug addicts, homeless people, and other creepers kept walking around. We got four of the five nights refunded. The manager argued that we had the wrong room, even though he had given us that key and put us in a different room in the system. I absolutely won't return.

It ended up being a really nice little stay for us. The employees were all cheerful and willing to help with whatever I needed. The location is handy, and the area felt a little scary, but not too bad. The building and rooms could definitely use an update. Their so-called light breakfast was just coffee, and there weren't any ice buckets in the rooms.
