The manager found us a first-floor room when we realized the stairs and our luggage would be a problem. We’re older now, and had first been assigned a room on the second floor. She was very kind and even got to meet our 15-week-old puppy, Lucy. We were traveling north for my father’s funeral, and everyone there treated us wonderfully. The room was clean, the beds were nice, and the service was top notch. There’s an indoor pool if you want to relax by the water, plus plenty of space for pets to get out and run after being in the car. A few restaurants and a billiard hall are nearby, and it’s convenient to the freeway. Five stars for a great stop on another road trip.

The room had a little wall damage and a bathroom bulb that was burned out, but it was okay for a quick weekend. Breakfast was basic but did the job. The location suited where I needed to be, though it’s somewhat removed from most nearby places. Fine for a short visit, but I probably wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay.

The staff were helpful and nice, and breakfast was hot and good. The bathroom had wallpaper coming loose and some missing plaster, but otherwise the place was fine.

It’s a quiet, pleasant area, and there’s a bar right next door that’s a lot of fun. For a two-star hotel, expectations should be realistic. Everything was clean, and I didn’t see any bugs, so it seems they’ve dealt with earlier problems.

You get what the listing describes here, with no major surprises either way. The rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable, and a good value. It’s handy for LBTL and Grand Rivers without the higher price. Breakfast was my one complaint: the scrambled eggs are powdered, there isn’t much variety, and it finishes at 9 AM on weekends. Also, there’s no elevator, so ask for a ground-floor room if stairs would be an issue.
