I used to be a loyal guest here, but losing me as a customer is the result of what happened today. My daughter lives across the street, so I chose this hotel for convenience. That no longer makes it worth staying. The building is nice, rooms are clean, and the front desk staff are pleasant. But when I requested late checkout, they denied it because they said it was “only available for Diamond members.” My Gold status wasn't enough. This doesn't seem like the kind of property Diamond members would realistically choose as a first option, so the explanation felt more like an excuse than a policy applied consistently.

We booked online for $123 after calling ahead to ask whether the hotel could fit our semi truck. We explained that we're heavy haulers with a wide load and needed enough room to get in and park. The person at the desk assured us there was enough space. When we arrived, we found that although parking existed, there wasn't room for our wide load to enter. We called the clerk with our concern, and she told us to contact the police for help. The officer wouldn't let us park where we'd planned to try. I called again to ask for a refund and was told to contact Priceline because we'd booked through a third party. Priceline called the hotel to ask if they would approve a cancellation and refund, but was told no manager was available and to try again the next day. The next day Priceline spoke with the Assistant Manager, who wouldn't issue the refund. Within a minute of Priceline speaking with her, I called Homewood Suites back and asked for the manager. I was sent to Kim the Assistant Manager's voicemail. Very poor customer service! Livaway suites is newer, has better rates, and is more accommodating with wider and heavier truck loads. Yes, truck stops exist, but sometimes we want to stay in hotels too. We'll take the $123 loss. Kim and staff, communicate better.

We've stayed here twice, first for a week and then a year later on a quick trip to SLC. Both times were a nice stay for the money. The place feels new and modern, is super clean, and has a quiet building, even in an end room near the freeway. My video sounds louder than it was, probably because the iPhone picks up sound too well, lol. Staff were friendly and check-in was quick, and breakfast was nice. We're picky about hotels, but I can highly recommend this place. WE WILL be back.

We've been visiting family in Utah for 30 years, and this is the best hotel we've stayed at. We had a 1 king bed studio suite, and the kitchen was thoughtfully laid out and well stocked. The desk area was generous, got lots of use, and even had wheels. Little details made a difference, like the ceiling fan, bathroom vent fan, and power strip on the nightstand. The staff were friendly, and the lobby had plenty of take-and-make food choices. Breakfast was delicious, with staff constantly restocking and ready to help. This place is a gem!
