Comfort Suites, Dry Ridge

The comfortable beds and great towels were the icing on the cake. The rooms are extremely spacious, everything was very clean, and the staff were really awesome. I can see why this Comfort Suites has won an award. I can’t remember the name of the woman working the second shift, but she was easily the most amazing desk clerk I’ve ever dealt with. This place has spoiled me for other Comfort Suites.

The room was huge, quiet, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast had plenty of options and stayed well stocked. The hotel has been recently renovated and sits just off I-75, with Walmart and fast food nearby if you need them. Page also made a booking mess much easier to deal with. Hotels.com had the wrong date, but she helped us check in quickly and talked to Hotels com to make sure I wouldn’t be charged twice. She was kind, helpful, and savvy.

The room was clean and nice, the service was good, and breakfast was decent, though nothing special. We only stayed one night, so I didn’t ask staff to fix the problems. I’d still recommend the place, but check whether they can address anything that would bother you. The curtains let too much light in at the bottom, and the smoke detector or fire alarm flashed so brightly I could see it through my eyelids. The thermostat also kept resetting the unit to over 80 degrees in under eight hours. Around 1 a.m. I woke up in a nearly unbearably hot room, sweating, and had to cover my face with my hand or arm to block the flashing light. My husband was bothered by the heat too, though the light didn’t bother him. This was mid-January, while it was snowing outside. I don’t know how the hotel can afford to heat rooms to 80 degrees when nobody is in them.

The rooms were big, and the hotel was clean, with a fresh smell from the moment you walk in. There’s an indoor heated pool open until 11 p.m., and breakfast is served too. The night desk clerk was the real standout. I didn’t get her name, but I believe she was employee of the quarter, and she deserves it. You can tell she loves her job, and her customer service was a 10 out of 10.
