Budget Inn Du Quoin

I stayed here for around six months in 2019-2020 with my two teenage boys. Paying by the month got me a discount. I worked 14-hour night shifts while they went to school, and I slept during the day. I kept my room clean, and we had no problems except once with the man next door. The owner dealt with that right away. I'd stay here again, and I've actually been thinking about it.

The room smelled awful, and there were roaches, grimy walls and floors, and peeling paint. We had booked through Travelocity and paid upfront at check-in, but went right back to the desk to ask for a refund. I wasn't going to let my family sleep there. The manager was rude and returned only half my money, and Travelocity wouldn't refund us either, so I guess the loss was $42. Lesson learned, do more research before booking. This place should close. Don't go.

The owner was welcoming, and I really like where this motel is. The rooms are dated, but they were clean, and cable is included. I'd stay again and recommend it to others.

We had to leave immediately because of bed bugs, but the owner kept our $1050. I've never been treated so badly at a hotel. This place needs to be shut down, and the owner is a slumlord.
