The kitchen already had dishes, so I didn’t need to bring any from home. I also liked using PIN codes for the doors instead of keeping track of a room key, and never had a problem getting in. The room was clean everywhere and roomy enough to move around comfortably. The bathroom was spacious, with a really cool shower and a one-of-a-kind mirror. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the downtown area. You won’t regret it.

The Oakland’s restoration was beautifully done, and we felt safe in the neighborhood the whole time. The paid parking on site was a plus, and the staff helped whenever we had an issue. I especially liked the photos along the walls that explain some of the building’s history. I’m interested in carpentry, architecture, renovations, and all that, so I was curious to read them. My friend and I stayed in the parlor. It was spotless when we arrived, and the room was beautiful. My friend actually gasped when she walked in. The parlor studio was exactly her style, and we loved the big chandelier, electric fireplace, and original building tiles in front of it.

I stayed from January 1 through January 29 2025. Housekeeping could be better, though the value was good. The restored building is nice and full of history, and the location was a big plus for me. Manager Michael was professional and quick to respond whenever I had a question. I definitely recommend this spot.

This historic gem offers a great room and a great value in a great location. I highly recommend it.

The place was cute, conveniently located, and cozy in style. Other guests were considerate, and I’d stay again and recommend it to friends. A few things could be easier: it would help to have extra towels more accessible, and a pull-out stand in the bathroom would provide more counter space while getting ready. I couldn’t find the email with my login details, so I called customer service, even though it was a bit late. The representative was polite, professional, and caring. He stayed on the line while I updated my email so he could troubleshoot if anything went wrong.
