The Marquette Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

I like being connected to the IDS center and the skyways, and the amenities are great. The location is nice too, though parking is a problem for visitors. I'm still in the middle of my stay, and so far I'm not impressed. This feels like a standard Hilton luxury hotel, but the kitchen has been underwhelming: both dinner and breakfast were pretty mid. The biggest issue is the noise between rooms. I didn't know the Corner King I'd paid for connected to another room. The closed connecting door doesn't block much, and there's no sweep at the bottom, so I can see underneath it. I can hear the people next door using the toilet, doing their hair, and talking at 2AM. Sometimes sounds like screams and moans also come through the vents. Having to listen to all that makes this feel far from luxurious.

I'm still here and already wanted to write this. Everyone at the front desk has been so welcoming, always saying hello and asking how I am, and they've been helpful too. When the a/c had a problem, they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. The rooms are very nice, and there are restaurants and stores within walking distance. I've had a fabulous stay. Thanks to everyone, and if I return to Minneapolis, I'll definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it.

Tatiana at the front desk got me an upgraded room, which I usually don't receive even with status. The staff were friendly, and the rooms are big, clean, and relatively quiet. The location is nice. Parking is poor, though valet isn't bad.

The one real letdown was the hotel restaurant. Service was abysmal: one evening, even after the rush had cleared, we waited 25 minutes just to order. Our server never came back, despite us trying to flag them down. We gave it another shot the next night, but you have to go to the bar yourself if you want service. There are plenty of walkable places to eat just outside the property. The rest of the property is clean and great. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious, beds are very comfy, and the shower has great hot water. The gym is solid, with dumbbells, yoga mats, treadmills, and two Peloton bikes. For parking, enter from Marquette street and take a ticket. Bring it to the front desk for validation and keep it with you, since the gate reads your license plate. If the plate doesn't work, have the front desk check your ticket.
