John, thanks for making the stay so good. The room was clean and had a fridge, microwave, and Direct TV. My needs are pretty simple, but this is where I’ll stay next time I’m in Dubois.

The bathroom was spotless, and the whole place felt clean and cared for. Staff were friendly and accommodating, too. Rocky Mountain Lodge has an old-fashioned feel, with big rooms and sturdy furniture: an oversized dresser, a solid wood desk, plenty of storage, and a large armchair for reading. The bed was firm and comfortable, with thick blankets, and I slept great. It’s not packed with modern extras, and some parts show their age, but the space, comfort, and retro character made this a memorable stay. I’d come back.

Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the mini-fridge, microwave, and satellite TV all worked. Still, for a two-night stay, coming back after a full day out on July 5th to find no fresh towels and no trash pickup was disappointing. On check-out morning, the office was open but empty, so I left the key in a basket without seeing anyone. We’d picked Rocky Mountain Lodge for its reviews and location for Grand Teton and Yellowstone. We arrived around 6pm on July 4th, and the office was closed, with a key taped to a paper bearing my name. It worked, but felt impersonal for a holiday weekend. The room also wasn’t the unit I’d booked online, though its layout was fine for our family. It’s an inexpensive, basic place to sleep for a night, and the drive to and from GTNP is incredible. For a longer stay, or if you expect staff on site and daily light housekeeping, you may be disappointed like we were. The price felt like two-star pricing for one-star quality. I hope management brings back a more personal touch.

The owner even pointed me toward places to get my car fixed, which was a nice extra. We had a spacious, thoughtfully decorated room, a really comfortable bed, and good hot water pressure. We stayed last night while passing through Wyoming. Thanks for a great visit!

We really liked our stay. It was quiet and very clean, and we’d recommend it. The heaters looked new, though we didn’t need one. Cooling was the issue: there’s no AC, just a fan, and with a wall between our beds, two fans would have helped. Opening the windows didn’t cool things enough during the day, especially after we’d been out. There wasn’t a hair dryer either, so that’s why I’m giving four stars.
