Hampton Inn Dubuque

A women’s sports team took over the breakfast area, using all the tables and food and making it loud and noisy. Our room’s AC swung between freezing cold and baking hot. The receptionist also said my room number out loud and didn’t acknowledge my rewards status. At 3 am, the phone’s message light started flashing and woke us. There was no message to retrieve. When I raised it with the staff, he said, “yeah, there’s a problem with that, sorry”.

At $200 a night, I expected the room to be cleaned daily, but they only clean it every other day. The digital key didn’t work, and the body gel and conditioner bottles were empty or wouldn’t dispense. I told staff, but they never filled or checked them, and they still didn’t work. There was no guest computer either. Hilton offered an apology but no discount. Don’t stay here.

Danyel was really friendly and kind, and Dan the cook was incredibly helpful with my special request.

It was a good stay, and I had no noise problems even though the hotel was full of children who were baseball players. My room was clean, the staff were adequately friendly, and breakfast was standard. The bed felt hard and the pillows were too soft.
