The pool was green and looked so gross that I wouldn’t let our kids swim, and I heard other guests complain about it too. There were also hanging wires in the hallway, doors that were hard to open, thin walls, and a broken bed. For a hotel that looks newly built, it felt really poorly put together. We had such a bad stay that we left for an Airbnb, even though we were in town for a wedding at the hotel. We asked whether we could get any money back for the remaining three days, but Linda said no, which I understood. The way we were treated made everything worse. At check-in, the desk guy barely responded when I greeted him, and said they didn’t have the pack n play we’d been promised when booking. The wedding was the reason we were there with our three small kids. After our first bad night, a maintenance guy came up, was very nice, and agreed the bed was broken. But when I followed up, Linda was mean and denied anything was wrong. She also said they’d had “so many” complaints about our kids running in the hall at night. They were asleep then. I explained and apologized for them running around during the day, but she brought it up again later even though we’d been gone all morning. She had earlier said they could run as much as they wanted during the day. Then the TV remote didn’t work, so my husband used the button to turn the TV off, and it came crashing down. When I went back to Linda, she yelled that we’d ripped it off the wall on purpose. Tiana, another front desk employee, called me a liar, laughed at me, and rolled her eyes while I spoke with Linda. I was embarrassed and confused. The day before the wedding, Linda came upstairs while the bride, her mom, and grandma were setting up and said they were being too loud, then said she was locking the doors until the wedding day. On the wedding day, I was nearby when another guest had a room mix-up. They wouldn’t offer her anything beyond a 10% discount. That same desk guy told her family the wedding guests were awful, pointed at me, and said I’d “threw a TV off the wall.” When I said that wasn’t true, he argued that I’d threatened him and called the police on me. The service was unbelievably rude. A front desk guy, Linda, and Tiana all made the stay feel hostile, and I’ve never had customer service this poor. This place didn’t feel kid friendly or even people friendly, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I have pictures and videos of almost everything I mentioned.

We enjoyed the stay overall, and the rooms are really roomy. The location is wonderful too. Just know the walls are thin if noise bothers you. We were in room 104 and could hear conversations and the TV from room 102, along with a lot of hallway noise. I ended up buying noise-canceling headphones so I could sleep comfortably.

I haven’t even stayed here yet, and already this has been my worst booking experience. The employees have been extremely rude and don’t seem to care. They also didn’t tell me ahead of time that I’d be charged before check-in. That should absolutely be explained upfront, especially when every other hotel in America doesn’t charge until you check in. The whole thing feels misleading, and I’m not looking forward to staying.

The location is the best part, right in central Dunedin and an easy walk to some great places. The bedroom was great, but the shower let the room down. Even after waiting ten minutes, the water was barely lukewarm, and I could see hairs on the wall because it hadn’t been cleaned properly.

You hear a lot from the hallway here. The floors are loud, and the doors don’t close softly, so every footstep and door shutting carries. The location is great, the rooms are a good size, and it’s not a party hotel, which is nice when you’re a weary traveler. My wife is a light sleeper, though, and it could be a rough night for someone sensitive to noise.
