Dinner Bell Motel

I didn’t feel comfortable staying here, especially with some sketchy looking people hanging around outside. We arrived at 8:30 p.m. and found an unclean room. The front desk woman said she could clean it if we left for thirty minutes to an hour. We asked to move to the upstairs room she said was available, but she insisted she could clean ours quickly, which made me wonder if that room was dirty too. With the reviews, it seems this may happen often. We left for The Gator Den motel, less than a minute away by car, and it was much cleaner, with an amazing big smart TV. The room was filthy. The sheets had pubic hair and bits of ripped cardboard in them, and were wrinkled like someone had slept there. The bed cover had white crust on it too, so it looked unchanged and dirty. The mattress protector was literally plastic, making the bed uncomfortable and noisy just to touch. There was someone else’s hair on the bathtub floor, and dead bugs and dirt all over the floor, like it hadn’t been swept. The TV remote didn’t work. After my hands got dusty trying to turn it on, I could barely make out the faces on the Samsung TV because the picture was so pixelated and low quality. It wasn’t a smart TV and the channel selection wasn’t good either. When I asked Booking.com for a full refund and explained what happened, they approved it. The hotel didn’t apologize or take responsibility, and didn’t seem surprised at all. That should tell you enough.
