The Gator Den Motel

My family and I have been coming here for years. We love having everything in one spot, with rooms, a restaurant, and boat rentals. It’s economical, the staff are really nice, and it’s a great place for the whole family to enjoy yourselves. The cleaning isn’t that great, though, so I definitely recommend bringing your own sheets, pillowcases, and bed covers. I won’t go into too much detail.

The Withlacoochee River is gorgeous here, and the water is pristine, almost baby blue. You can rent boats right on site or take airboat rides if you have a party of four or more. There’s also a public launch across the street. The river connects to Rainbow Springs, so it’s worth getting out on the water. This is a nice, cozy motel right on the river. I’ll be back when it’s warmer!

We had an awesome day on the water with the family. Renting the boat was easy, communication was great, and they got it launched quickly. It was a beautiful day, and the place is dog friendly. I’m sure the family will be back.

The motel has clean, big rooms that are comfortable, and the staff are really nice. They don’t bother you, but check if you need anything. I needed towels, coffee, and creamer. There’s a store and bait shop next door, as well as a closed in restaurant and an open one with live music by the lake. They rent water equipment too, and the place is full of trucks and boats. The food was good, and all the girls on staff were nice. On my last evening, my sister in law came to eat with me just before closing. It was cold, and we didn’t want to go anywhere else, but they welcomed us in, took our order, and gave us plenty of time to eat. The food was hot and delicious, exactly what we wanted.
