Comfort Inn & Suites Durango

The room felt like higher quality than I expected, and the facilities were outstanding. We also had a delicious hot breakfast. The front desk staff knew their stuff and were very helpful. It exceeded my expectations.

We first booked for one night because of an emergency, then needed to add a second night. The rooms were tidy and clean, breakfast was good, and the worker there was attentive, though I didn't catch his name. Doug at the front desk deserves a big thank you. He greeted us kindly both nights. He put us next door to our family the first night, and when our second booking came in, he said he recognized my name right away and saved the same room for us. I appreciate how thoughtful he was. I'd recommend this hotel for its compassion and overall cleanliness.

The location is great, but my stay didn't come close to the good experience I had here five years ago. The front desk agent was willing to move my family and me, and I appreciated that. He explained they were training new housekeeping staff. Our first room was disgusting: hair on the bedding, in the bathtub, and on the bathroom floor, along with shredded plastic and threads. The comforter was dirty, there were still crumbs by the nightstand, and the room smelled sweaty. Thankfully, the next room was much better. I wish I hadn't had to see the first one.

The clerk listened when I explained what my elderly mother and I needed and gave us the perfect room. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. We slept through the night, had warm showers, and enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast before packing up to leave. We were completely satisfied, and I'll look for a Comfort Inn & Suites the next time I need a hotel for the night.
