Durango Lodge

The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel is near the rail station, restaurants, and shops. The heater makes a clunk when it starts, which could wake a light sleeper. I couldn’t get the TV set up, so I went to the front desk twice. The woman there wasn’t helpful and was busy taking pictures of herself to post on some site. After 20 minutes of trying, I eventually worked out how to set up the TV myself.

The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful, and the room was better than we expected for the price. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel’s downtown location, since we could walk to lots of shops and restaurants.

Everything we wanted and needed downtown was within walking distance. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with no fuss and everything you need. They even had towels for things besides showering, like bikes and shoes, which seemed like a smart touch. We didn’t get to try the pool or hot tub, though we saw lots of other guests using them. A local told us it’s a good place for the money. We’d stay again.

I travel a lot and this is my first review, because it’s such a nice place. I like being able to drive right up to my room and unload. The rooms are very practical, with plenty of storage for all my stuff during a five-day stay. Everything was extremely clean, and the staff were welcoming.
