La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Durango

The staff are the reason I keep coming back. They're genuinely cool people, and the hotel is clean, quiet, and has roomy rooms. The breakfast is good too. I've stayed at several places in Durango, and this is the one I plan to return to.

We loved how quiet the hotel was, and our room was clean and comfortable. The friendly staff also found us a great room. Breakfast was the letdown: ours was over-scrambled eggs, an undercooked sausage patty, and a tortilla, which didn't feel like a proper hot breakfast. We've had more choices at other La Quinta hotels, including eggs, bacon, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, DIY waffles, cereal, and more. Maybe there were fewer travelers on the days we visited. Other hotel brands have offered us less, and La Quinta is one of our favorite brands because it's usually consistent.

We were happy with our stay with our dog. Wade at the front desk was very nice, and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel seemed fairly new, and having pet rooms on the first floor worked well for us. Someone was staying above us, but the soundproofing was decent and the night stayed quiet. The blackout curtains were good, and breakfast was the usual La Quinta self-serve spread, with some hot items, yogurt, muffins, bagels, and similar options. The parking lot felt safe for our car. There aren't any restaurants within walking distance, so we drove 3 miles into town, which was no big deal.

The room was clean, and the hotel felt quiet and comfortable. Check-in at the front desk was great. Breakfast was the weak spot, since the hot food was barely edible. The stay itself was good, but I'd plan to eat breakfast elsewhere.
