Coming home to The Blooming Garden Inn after work each day was a pleasure. The beautiful property and the hospitality from Frank and Dolly made my several-week stay a welcome break from the stress of relocating for work. I’m confident you won’t find more compassionate hosts in Durham. It’s a piece of local history, and the residents love their city and are glad to share what they know. For an extended stay or a visit to Durham, I highly recommend The Blooming Garden. Thanks, Frank and Dolly, I truly enjoyed my stay.

The bed sat a little high for me, but there was a step stool to use. The towels were soft and clean, and the hot water was just right. Frank and Dolly were thoughtful, kind hosts, and we really enjoyed talking with them. It’s a beautiful, relaxing place, and the kitties are a sweet touch.

We needed access to our room before check-in because of an unusual situation, and Frank was very accommodating. The Inn was comfortable and close to lots of good spots in Durham. Breakfast was fantastic, with fresh fruit, tasty quiche, and fresh juice. We had a wonderful stay and would book again for a future trip if it works out.

I barely had time to explore Durham during my rushed visit for an engagement party, but the Inn itself was more interesting than anything I saw. I’d come back to Durham just to stay there again and hear more about the home’s history from the lovely owners. It’s a beautifully restored 125-year-old house, full of fascinating antiques and gorgeous details in every nook and cranny. The innkeepers have thought of every guest’s needs, and despite the home’s age, it has all the modern comforts. You feel at home, can chat with the welcoming innkeepers, and might meet other guests over breakfast, which is a lovely way to travel when you don’t know anyone in town. This place couldn’t be better.

We couldn’t stay because of COVID restrictions. We’d booked at the last minute since a snowstorm was keeping us from getting home, and the owner was genuinely concerned about us and wanted our trip to the area to go well. He suggested another bed and breakfast, which we booked. If I’m back in the Durham area, I’ll definitely stay here.
