Hampton Inn & Suites Durham University Medical Center

We used the complimentary shuttle three times, and each trip went smoothly. It was really convenient, and the campus was only a 10-15 minute drive away. When we arrived in December, the lobby was extremely clean and decorated with several Christmas trees. They also had a free hot cocoa bar and fresh cookies, which made the place feel warm and welcoming. The hotel did a fabulous job from start to finish. If we come back for another basketball game, we’ll definitely stay here again.

The nicest surprise was that the front desk called when I left my iPhone behind. I've forgotten a device at a hotel before, but this was the first time a hotel reached out to me first. They’re sending me a link to pay the postage so they can mail it back. I’m impressed. I’ve stayed here several times in the past few months, and the staff are really nice. Rooms are quiet, clean, new, and everything works well. Breakfast is solid, there are movie channels, and rooms have either tubs or roll-in showers. I’ve brought my dogs too, and the quiet helped them settle in an unfamiliar place. The location isn’t especially picturesque, but it works well for getting around Durham, and Eno Quarry trailhead and Duke Forest are about a five-minute drive away.

I was there January 21-24, and the location near the highway worked well. The rooms were comfortable and had everything I needed, and breakfast offered different things each morning. Prices are competitive, too. This was the cleanest Hampton Inn I've visited, so credit to the cleaning crew, and the employees were unusually friendly. I honestly have nothing negative to say. A great place to stay.

The room was huge, open, and clean, and we really enjoyed breakfast. We also made use of the free shuttle. Our driver, Gwen, was friendly and kind, and even stopped at the coffee shop before taking us to the train station. She had snacks with her too, which was nice.
