Oyo Hotel Durham West Hills

I needed somewhere quiet for a couple of days where I could work on business billings with my laptop, and the staff were very accommodating. They even offered to print files from my thumb drive, which I really appreciated. I later moved to a hotel closer to downtown so I could walk around Durham, and to work on NFL playoff writing among fans watching the local team.

The advertised rooms looked nothing like the ones we got, and the property felt filthy and very unsafe. We saw bugs in the rooms and a used needle in the parking lot. We also overheard a room cleaner telling another worker about bed bugs in the room she was cleaning. We left and went to another hotel.

The room was nothing like the photos. The bed felt like a prison bed, and the shower only got hot if I kept turning it off and back on. The refrigerator didn't work properly and my food spoiled. After housekeeping had been through, I couldn't get fresh towels when I asked, so I had to pay for a clean one myself. There also isn't a direct way to contact the hotel. I still haven't received my deposit. Update: HR said they found a piece of bud that was invisible to the naked eye and “anshes” he could only assume I was smoking in the room. I wasn't. There's a camera pointed at my room, and you can see me walk over to the grass to smoke. He never said the room smelled like smoke. I have a video. I was really disappointed by the false advertising and the stay wasn't what I expected.

The housekeeper was the only person who was really friendly, and she was very sweet. The refrigerator didn't work, and I still haven't gotten my security deposit back, so I feel scammed. We were supposed to have a king mattress, but they put a full-size mattress on a metal king box spring. You could easily get hurt if you aren't careful.
