Budget Inn

Don’t let the website photos fool you. The room looked nothing like them, the hotel was disgusting, and there were roaches. The main reason I’m writing this is the manager’s attitude. He was rude and disrespectful and wouldn’t look us in the eye. I’ve never met a more disrespectful hotel owner. My cousin had rented a room at the Budget after his apartment caught fire, and he was depressed, so I went to support him. We went with his girlfriend to Food Lion to get food, and when we came back the manager said my cousin couldn’t have visitors. He told me to leave or he’d call the police and my cousin would lose his deposit. I explained I was only visiting and had my own apartment. My cousin had paid $100 as a deposit and $80 for the room, but apparently wasn’t allowed any visitors. I’ve never been to a hotel where visitors weren’t allowed.

I’ve always been treated respectfully by the older owners and never had a problem, but this man was incredibly rude and disrespectful. He accused me of destroying rooms, stuffing toilet paper in the toilet, and other things. I asked to see the video, but he refused. He also tried to charge me extra. The older owners never even charged me a deposit, so how could I have destroyed a room? He’s a liar. I’ll get proof and come back. It’s okay, I’ll let the law handle it.

Worst place to stay. We got there at 10:58 and left at 11:00, but we got banned for something dumb. My lady had rented a room, and while she was at work I left, then came back with two friends to get my things. They returned the deposit. After I left, the manager called my girl and said people had been staying there. She told him it had just been her and me, and then he switched it to the visitor policy, even though that should be for people staying, not just leaving.

I asked for a room with two beds. It cost $75, but they wanted a $150 deposit, which I agreed to. The part I didn’t like was that they only accepted cash. Some people don’t like using cash, and I’m fine with credit or debit. Thank you. I wouldn’t book this hotel again.
