Wandering around the little town is a treat, and the hiking nearby is epic. This historic hotel gets the history right, too. The rooms are full of character, the beds are comfy, and the food is delicious. It feels like I've traveled somewhere far away, even though it's only an hour from Sacramento and a mile off I-80. Such a special place for a girls' weekend with friends. I need to plan another trip back this summer!

We only found this place because snow and road closures kept us from reaching Tahoe, but what a lovely surprise. The Victorian hotel is charming and spotless, with a huge wood-burning fireplace. There’s a good menu, a nice range of wine and beer on tap, Wi-Fi, and modern adjustable heaters in the rooms. I could see this being a destination any time of year.

Jami turned our 12th anniversary dinner into a night we won't forget. She welcomed us right away, then helped us choose a great wine. She really knows her wine, and she's also a talented chef, warm and fun, and easy to talk to, like an old friend. The food came out hot and fresh, tasted delicious, and there was enough left for breakfast. Jami checked in a few times, and by the end we were sharing stories and already looking forward to another visit. Highly recommend the restaurant. The hotel has incredible historic charm for Gold Country. We stayed there several years ago in the room that once connected to the hotel across the street by a bridge. Looking out the window made the history feel real. My favorite spot is the back porch, sitting with a cold drink and taking in the views of this quiet, restful town. We're so glad to see the hotel thriving.

The Gold Diggers Pan Potstickers were wonderful again, and Chef Jami's cooking deserves a Michelin Star. Laura Lee pointed me toward the seared wild-caught ahi over arugula with soy-ginger vinaigrette, and she nailed it. It was incredibly tasty. The garlic fries were the best I've had, crisp, not greasy, and just the right amount of garlic. Another spectacular lunch at Dutch Flat Hotel Restaurant.

The burgers with bacon were delicious, with that really good, beefy taste, and the chicken piccata was incredible. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and loved it. But the pretzel was the standout, huge, perfectly cooked, and so good, a 12/10. My family came here last weekend with out-of-town company after taking family photos, and we all had the best meal. It's hands down the best I've eaten in a long time. Come stay at this hotel, eat, and enjoy this incredible town.
