The Heid Lofts By Reside, A Wyndham Residence

Dawan Patel made the stay feel warm and easy, and I really appreciated the support. Sonder The Heid in Philadelphia was clean, cozy, and in a great location. The loft felt like a home away from home. I’d happily stay again!

I stayed here in May 2026. The location is nice, and the staff seemed generally pleasant. They charged me twice, then refunded me after I complained, but wouldn’t cover the money I lost in the conversion. The walls are thin, and noise comes through the poorly insulated windows in the evening.

The room itself had nice decor, but the hallway was in rough shape, with scratched walls and torn trim hanging loose. The front desk employee said there were no other rooms available. Moments later, I booked an extra room on the hotel website, so that wasn’t true. The smoke detector kept chirping because its battery was low. Instead of changing the battery, the employee took the detector down and left without putting it back. The walls are thin too. A family with young children woke us just after 6 a.m. with singing, crying, and shouting, and kept it up until they checked out. It was a poor stay. If this is typical of the Sonder brand, I won’t return to this hotel or stay with the brand again.

This was my first time staying in a hotel loft apartment, and I’d definitely recommend it. It felt like having an apartment of my own for about the price of a regular hotel room, so I think it’s a much better deal. The staff were very helpful too.
