Eagles Mere Inn

This is a lovely spot if you want nature, quiet, and walks. The town is so peaceful, in a way we really enjoyed. After hiking, we had a good dinner and cocktails at the very good restaurant. Our weekend at the Inn was serene, and the staff were warm and welcoming.

It was clean and beautiful, and the food was fantastic both at the inn and in town, at normal prices. The silence is astonishing, which made this historical, secluded spot perfect for the wyoming valley ghost tours event we came for. We spent the weekend here to go ghost hunting, and there wasn't a siren or loud muffler to be heard. That quiet does mean that a medical emergency could require being airlifted out of the hamlet. The rooms lose a star because the only two outlets for charging are behind the beds' headboards, which isn't convenient. Still, that's one of the quirks of a historical place. I recommend it for the history, nature, helpful service, and quiet.

The location made it easy to stroll into town or bike over to the lake, and the room was inviting and amazingly comfortable. There were different kinds of shared spaces, from quiet corners for reading to livelier areas for socializing. The staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help with anything. What a lovely stay at the Inn. I can't say enough good things about it. If you haven't been, go!

The little things are what we love here, like wandering around town by day or night and feeling safe, enjoying an ice cream, petting somebody's dog, and ending up in a conversation with a stranger. The main idea is to slow down, leave the stress behind for a bit, and enjoy the peaceful lake and nature. It's not a place for constant activity, though there's plenty of hiking around the area. On Saturday, make time for the Air Museum and Auto Museum. We also like taking a slow ride around the lake on the Hardly Able with Will. This was our third visit, and coming here for our anniversary has become a tradition. The Inn's people are friendly and attentive.
