Comfort Inn & Suites East Greenbush - Albany

The stay ended with a decision not to come back. We slid several times on plastic taped over the carpet by the side entrance, and the next morning there was a large patch of ice just outside the back door. Dog feces covered the sidewalk, and I rolled my suitcase through it. Breakfast had no fruit at all. I know it was free, but a banana and a non-dairy option for people with allergies would have been nice. We got no apology or discount for the problems. I've had several good stays here before, but things have changed. The hotel is being renovated, and management didn't handle check-in well. It starts at 3 PM. I arrived at 2:30 and waited in the lobby. At 3 the room still wasn't ready, then it wasn't ready at 3:15 or 3:30 either. At 3:35 I asked for any room. We got one in the wrong location, beside the staff laundry room, where the machines and staff talking were loud. The hallway smelled like cigarettes, laundry detergent, and marijuana, with a faint version of the same smell in our room. The AC was running even though it was winter and 26 degrees outside. The TVs couldn't stream, and the few channels were blurry and poor quality.

I stayed 13 nights at Comfort Inn & Suites and found it clean, quiet, comfortable, and very reasonably priced for a long visit. As a student, I could study and relax in a peaceful, welcoming place. The bright interior and big windows were a real plus since I love natural light. The staff made the stay special. I even spent my birthday there, and they went out of their way to make it memorable, including making bacon. That extra care meant a lot. Great value and service. I'd absolutely stay again and recommend it.

Minerva at the desk was so sweet throughout our stay, and Nathalia was lovely when we left. She gave us two little packs of granola bars with cards bearing the names of the people who'd taken care of us, asking us to make this review. The staff were all super nice and the service was great. We had this lovely, peaceful, warm and spacious room for my birthday night. The hotel is gorgeous inside and out. There's a cozy lounge, plus a little cafeteria area up a set of soft stairs. It was amazing. I loved it.

The suite is great, very clean and quiet, with a couch, microwave, and even cupboards. Emilio, I believe, was a really helpful and polite young man, and the rest of the staff have been kind. I'm enjoying my stay, but the pool is a big disappointment. I picked this hotel for the pool, and it's around 65° and freezing. The front desk said it can't be made any warmer, which wasn't mentioned at check-in, so I can't swim. I just wish it were working properly.
