Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites East Lansing by IHG

Everything worked well for me: fast wifi, working appliances and hot water, a clean room, and prompt room service. Check-in and checkout were easy, and staff were careful with my things while I was out. The coffee bar and drink machines are always open, and I never got to breakfast. You can ask for a coffee maker, though there wasn't one in my room; I was fine using the new-looking, easy machines in the lounge. There's lots of free parking, cameras on every floor, and visible fire extinguishers, which helped me feel safe. The pool was being drained and cleaned during my stay. I didn't come to swim, and I figure pools need maintenance sometimes. They were upfront that it was scheduled to reopen around March 18th, though I wouldn't bring family if swimming were essential. For the price and rating, this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at, and I've been to quite a few. Holiday Inn rarely disappoints, and this is one of its nicer properties in my opinion. I was given an accessible room even though I hadn't requested one and don't have a disability. The bathroom was spacious with grab bars all around, and it seemed like my disabled friend could have managed there. The toilet had no seat, though, and as another reviewer mentioned, the light switches were still rather high. There's also an accessible panic button outside near the door. My only other issue was that the top outlet above the desk didn't work, but the rest did.
