Tamiami Motel

The cockroaches were awful, and there were other bugs too. The service was rude and nasty. I’d rather sleep on the street than in this motel, and I can’t recommend it at all. If zero stars were possible, that’s what I’d give. They should fire the staff, tear the place down, and build a new motel.

We ended up leaving two nights early for another hotel because I didn’t feel safe or comfortable. As we were going out so my fiancé could take me to work, people were sitting outside the rooms smoking something that didn’t smell like cigarettes. The stay had been arranged so I could work overnight shifts close by and get extra rest, but I couldn’t sleep. The bed was so hard I got no restful sleep, and my fiancé heard some kind of critter running across the roof all night. When we arrived, the bathroom had a completely empty toilet paper roll, and the place felt dingy.

It’s a charming motel in a handy spot near Downtown, and I’ve stayed there many nights. The rooms are traditionally smaller than what nearby chain competitors like Red Roof offer for the same price, but this place feels much cozier. Prices can change a lot between high and low season, so I always call and book directly. 🌴

This place is awful and way overpriced. The floors and bathrooms were dirty, the refrigerators were broken, and the beds were hard as a concrete driveway. There were cockroaches too. Just nasty. Stay away!
