We picked this place because it’s close to Michigan International Speedway, but I’ll stay somewhere else next time. The hallways smelled off, and the place was dirty and looked like construction was underway, though there were no workers or tools around. The beds felt like sleeping on the ground, and the towels and sheets were stained. When we asked for another blanket at 7 PM, the desk said housekeeping was closed. The pool was cold, had no towels, and the echo made it hard to talk. Also, the online listings say there’s a hot tub, but there isn’t one, it’s been cemented in. The TV picture was unclear, its remote needed old batteries replaced, and you had to stand close to use it. The smoke detector was sitting on the TV stand without a battery. Breakfast was minimal and had no hot food. I usually only leave positive reviews, but this was a rough stay, and I should’ve read more reviews first.

The location made getting to the University of Michigan and I-94 easy, and the price felt like good value for what we got. Check-in and checkout were smooth, thanks to staff who were friendly, professional, and ready to help. Our room was clean, well kept, and comfortable, with a mini-fridge and microwave that came in handy. It was a relaxing place to return to after a long day. This Days Inn by Wyndham Ann Arbor exceeded my expectations, and I’d gladly recommend it as a reliable budget-friendly stay.

We were inside for less than half an hour, just long enough to check in and then check out so we could find somewhere else to stay. There were uncapped needles outside the doors, at least eight near one door before I stopped counting. The place was filthy and poorly maintained. When I told the front desk why we were leaving, the response was, “It’s just that kind of hotel. I see that stuff every day!” The website should say that, then. This place felt disgusting and unsafe.

The location was decent since everything is within walking distance, and the staff were honestly doing the best they could. But the hallway smelled awful, the carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and there was trash all over the parking lot. Breakfast was just snacks and coffee, and we were limited to two towels for the whole stay. The TV didn’t work, the toilet made a screaming sound, and our room wasn’t cleaned during the three days we were there. Ownership clearly didn’t care. You get what you pay for.

The door wall in our room was unlocked, and we only noticed in the evening. The toilet came loose from the wall when you stood up, moving in a way that felt both disgusting and concerning. When we called the desk for help, they were dismissive and wouldn’t give us the time of day. The hallways had a persistent funky, moldy smell that hit as soon as you walked in. I have asthma and needed my inhaler through the night to breathe comfortably. There was visible black mold in the shower, dust caked on the ventilation system, and gross stains and spots across the walls, furniture, and floor. The so-called breakfast buffet had only milk, juice, cereal, and Eggos. This was a miserable stay.
