Econo Lodge Atlanta College Park

I had a very bad stay. The manager and staff were disrespectful, dishonest, and lazy, and the way they treated me was crazy. Police were always there, as you can see in the picture. This was the worst place. Please don't book it.

Check the reviews carefully before booking. As a PLATINUM member, I wouldn't choose this hotel. They didn't honor early check-in or late checkout, and there was no free breakfast. They'd knock every 15 minutes from 10am to make sure you were leaving, and you could lose your deposit for being just one minute past checkout. I used a free night here because I come to Atlanta most weekends. I've worked as a night auditor at hotels from hourly properties to 5-star Marriott hotels, and I blame ownership for the policies, not the staff who are just following them. Room 221 was clean and nearly everything worked, though the light fixture away from the door was out. Housekeeping had done a good job that morning, so I recommend asking for that room. I got the free night's sleep I wanted, but lost the Choice Hotel Platinum privileges I get at other Econo Lodge and Choice Hotel brands. If ownership won't honor Choice Hotels Privileges, I think the hotel should lose its brand name. I've contacted Corporate about it. Staying here felt like the Disney story of The Frog and The Prince.

I stayed on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The room smelled like dirty clothes and old carpet, and it wasn't fully clean. I found a condom wrapper under the AC unit. At 3 o'clock in the morning, I woke up with a roach crawling on my leg. When I turned on the light, several more were crawling all over the floor, so I packed and left.

I've stayed at this Econo Lodge Virginia Ave three times before and had satisfactory visits, so what happened on November 29th 2025 was shocking. I checked in at around 7:00 PM and left by 11:00 PM, after only about four hours. I'd showered and was getting ready for bed when I noticed a large, disturbing stain on the bed and pillow. It looked unsanitary, as if bodily fluid had leaked onto the sheets. I didn't feel safe or comfortable sleeping there, so I gathered my things and checked out right away. This was a serious failure of basic cleanliness and a major red flag, despite my previous good stays. I hope management fixes its housekeeping procedures immediately. This is unacceptable for any lodging establishment.
