Hampton Inn & Ste Atlanta Airport North I85

As always, this place is great. My wife booked Best Western Plus by mistake for a week, and it was lousy. They charged us more and didn't even provide lotion. Most higher-end places like Hampton Inn give you that amenity and take care of their customers. One tip: ask for a room on the side away from the freeway. You won't get any sleep in the rooms facing it.

Breakfast was perfectly adequate, and the staff I dealt with were friendly and professional. Those are the reasons I gave it three stars. My room had several problems that seemed beyond ordinary wear: peeling paint, rusted fixtures, damaged doors and trim, plus visible mold in the shower. There was hair on the shower ceiling and around the sink too, so it didn't look thoroughly cleaned before check-in. I attached photos to show what I mean. This isn't about luxury or looks, just basic upkeep and cleanliness, especially in a bathroom where moisture and sanitation matter. The place has potential, particularly because the front-line staff are good. I hope management looks into the maintenance and housekeeping gaps and works on restoring guests' confidence.

The General Manager personally contacted me after my review to apologize, and I appreciated the care she took with my concerns. She promptly upgraded my room to show that my safety and comfort mattered, and that made a noticeable difference. I felt much more at ease for the rest of my business trip. She explained that scheduling problems around required maintenance meant they hadn't given advance notice for the fire alarm test, and she was understanding and apologetic about how it was handled. She was kind, professional, and did what she could to put things right. I was happier with the outcome, especially as I was still there for work. I had also booked my dates incorrectly and needed one extra day, and the staff accommodated that without any hassle. Before that response, the stay had been stressful and unsettling. I'd chosen this Hampton Inn after reading reviews saying it was safe, which mattered to me as a solo female business traveler, but the room was disappointing: stained, discolored carpet and upholstery, and rust, peeling paint, and dust in several bathroom areas. I believe the staff clean, but maintenance and repairs seemed neglected for a long time. At 3:30 a.m. on 3/31/2026, a man outside my fifth-floor door yelled and banged on it. I couldn't make out what he was saying, and I was frightened and felt extremely unsafe. With the hotel near the airport and the area's well-known safety concerns, I stayed silent and still, afraid he'd realize someone was in the room. Just after 1 p.m. on 4/1, the fire alarm went off. I panicked, took my belongings, and used the stairs to evacuate. The front desk seemed surprised that I was afraid and said it was only a fire alarm test. No warning had been given. I won't stay at this Hampton Inn again, and I'll tell colleagues who travel regularly to choose another Hilton property. Management's response did make a difference, and their effort to address things didn't go unnoticed.

We felt safe in the room, which was huge for an airport hotel, clean, and had comfortable beds. I was a bit worried about parking because of reviews mentioning break-ins, but when we arrived, Atlanta police had a squad parked in the median on the road in front of the hotel and were driving through the parking lots. We had an early flight and couldn't try breakfast. I'd happily stay there again.
