The breakfast was a good spread, with a pancake maker, cereal, bagels, donuts, toast, eggs, and more, plus several kinds of juice, coffee, and milk. There were four nice pillows on each bed, and the mattresses were big and comfortable. Our room was clean and comfortable beyond what I expected, and the staff were professional and considerate. If it's a little more expensive than nearby motels, there's a reason. I'd recommend the 8 over the 6. Randy’s restaurant across the street also had decent home cooked food at reasonable prices.

I had a great night's sleep here, thanks to a very comfortable bed and a good mattress topper. The shower had excellent pressure, and the room was very clean, large, and had a massive bed. The TV had plenty of channels, and the wifi stayed stable and worked well. The front desk guy was friendly, and I was given room 219. The NFC door locks were really useful while I had luggage with me. This was my first visit, on a road trip, and it's a really nice Super 8. There are lots of places to eat along the road. I went to Altoona Family Restaurant for breakfast because I like supporting local businesses. Happy to recommend it, and I'll stay here again when I'm in Eau Claire. Michael Cliffe, Great Britain

The tiny pancake maker was fun, and breakfast was yummy. I'll stay here again when I'm in Eauclaire for work. Everything else about my two nights was pretty much perfect, with friendly, smiling staff, clean bedding, very white absorbent towels, and halls and rooms that smell amazing. The room was super clean except for some settled dust around the edges. My one complaint was the shower: it wouldn't get hot unless I ran the bath faucet, which is a pain when you're trying to shower. I ended up taking a cold shower.

Management needs to step up the cleanliness. The place is run down because it's old, but that doesn't excuse how dirty it was. The towels were the only thing that looked clean, and even they were heavily stained. I bought a blanket to lay over the bed and used my cat blanket to cover up so I wouldn't have to touch anything. The floor clearly hadn't been vacuumed for ages. There were coins, hair elastics, crumbs, ants, and other debris. The bathtub was so grimy that my slides wiped clean spots in the dirt just from me standing in it to shower. The bedspreads and furniture were covered in stains. It looked as if they'd just made the bed after the last guest, without changing the sheets, and the blankets had needed washing for weeks. This was honestly the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. My parents paid, so I didn't complain, but if I'd been there without them I never would have stayed. Even if I couldn't get a refund, I'd have gone somewhere else or slept in my car.

They let me check in at 5am, which I really appreciated. Plenty of hotels won't allow check-in outside their regular schedule. The process was quick and painless, and the room was much nicer than the outside made it look. After a couple of hours of rest, I used the key for a shower. It works wonders for a guy. I got home 4.5 hours later, and I'll use that plan again: wing it, but now I have a standard in place. I just needed to get off the road during a 16 hr drive from north eastern Pennsylvania. My eyes were strained and glare from the lights made night driving pretty much impossible. Good experience.
