Travelodge by Wyndham Edgemont

I’ve never seen a better hotel gym. There’s a full dumbbell rack with weights over 100 lbs, a squat rack, Smith machine, proper bench press and preacher curl bench, plus about 10 machines.

I needed a room for a week, but after two days of trying several times during the day to book two rooms by phone, no one answered, including at the general manager’s number. I couldn’t even leave a message, and nobody was at the office when I went there either. The place had been recommended, but don’t bother. I reported it and complained to TRAVEL LODGE & WYNDAM CORPORATE. Too bad. Go to the Cowboy across the way, around the corner. The rooms are nice and cozy, and Mark is a very nice man. If you can’t answer the phone, you don’t need my or anyone else’s business!

I kept my truck parked at the property while I biked the Mikelson trail over about five days. The room was a good size for one person, though tight for two, and impeccably clean. It had a small TV, desk, fridge, and nightstand, and the shower had hot water with good pressure. The hotel caters to railroad workers, who go to bed and get up early. They were very quiet and respectful. When you arrive, the front desk may be unattended. Check the key ring color on the bulletin board, then look left at the sign on the far wall showing the four sets of room numbers. The color indicates which of the four hotel hallways to look in for someone who can help. A very good place for a good night’s sleep.

For the price, it’s great, with friendly service and plenty of parking. The rooms could definitely use updates. The mini-mart next door is great, especially since there’s no breakfast here.
