Echo Hotel and Conference Center

The TVs were nice, and the location was great. I didn’t see loiterers or anyone shady hanging around. The only issue was that there were just sheets, no blankets.

The room could use some touch-ups, and I found a roach on the wall near the table. The microwave didn’t work, and the refrigerator needed more cleaning. The women who handle room service and the front desk staff were wonderful, but the neighbors were loud all the time. It was okay apart from that.

The room had potential, but the water pressure was poor. When I mentioned it, the front desk employee said nobody else had complained and blamed it on my room being near the back, far from the boilers at the front. I’d accidentally deactivated my key card and couldn’t get my ID because it was locked inside the room. I kept explaining that, but the employee repeated that policy required me to show my ID.

The staff were helpful and very nice, and my room had everything I needed for the three nights I was there. I could walk to several places to eat, the library was right nearby, and there was a big open space beyond it where I could take my dog for walks. The mechanic across the street was great when I had car trouble, too. I’d stay here again if I return to Edinburg.
