Holiday Inn FRENCH QUARTER-CHATEAU LEMOYNE by IHG

I wanted an IHG property with the feel of a classic old New Orleans hotel, and when this one showed up in the app, it was an easy choice. The room had a shared balcony, charming but still modern, and the courtyard pool was beautiful. Valet was quick and helpful, right out front, and they could handle larger vehicles. We brought a big SUV, and I saw one-ton pickups in the lot too. Everyone was extremely friendly and remembered my name, even employees I hadn't met. The whole team was on point. I can't say enough good things and would stay again and again.

After our delayed flight, we finally checked in around 1:00am. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the location was great. The valet offered to carry our two bags, but I saw the elevator nearby and said I could manage. I hadn't realized the route to our upgraded room meant going up five stairs and then down another five with the luggage. My wife and I are both 79. When we opened room #303, the couch mentioned in other reviews was the first thing we noticed, and it was disappointing. We decided to put up with it rather than go through the hassle of changing rooms the next day.

The location is the main draw, and the restaurant was excellent. At least, the club sandwich was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is older and feels like three stars, with small, dark rooms, worn carpet, and tired bathrooms. There’s also a shared balcony.

Once inside, the room was very nice, with an excellent bed and upscale furniture. The shower was lovely, and I was fine with there being no bathtub. The hallways were dirty, though, and parking is valet only at $50 per night, on top of the room price. It’s a tough setup because of the location. Overall, a very decent hotel.
